The Commons KU | Coffee at The Commons Coffee at The Commons

red hot research

Coffee @ The Commons is intended to provide a venue for conversation between interested members of the community and a visiting expert. In collaboration with departments across the University, The Commons identifies speakers who are on campus to speak about their research, and whose work applies broadly, with implications for many disciplines. Coffee @ The Commons is then an opportunity for more intimate dialogue with these visitors.

Coffee @ The Commons is open to KU faculty, staff, and students, as well as members of the larger Lawrence community. Those interested in attending should familiarize themselves with the work of the speaker beforehand, so that they are prepared to ask questions and prompt dialogue with the speaker and other attendees. Though you don’t need to reserve a seat to attend, we’d appreciate knowing if you intend to bring a large group, just so that we can prepare accordingly. (Please email thecommons@ku.edu with this information.) Think of it as a less boisterous Idea Café with coffee.
