Coffee @ The Commons

Coffee @ The Commons provides a venue for more in-depth conversation between interested members of the community and a visiting expert. In collaboration with departments across the University, The Commons identifies speakers featured by departments across campus, whose work resonates across disciplines, to speak about their research in a discussion-style setting. Coffee @ The Commons enables students, staff, and faculty to share in a discussion equally, around themes that resonate with their work and interests.

Coffee @ The Commons is open to KU faculty, staff, and students, as well as members of the larger Lawrence community. Those interested in attending should familiarize themselves with the work of the speaker beforehand, so that they are prepared to ask questions and prompt dialogue with the speaker and other attendees. Though you don’t need to reserve a seat to attend, we’d appreciate knowing if you intend to bring a large group, just so that we can prepare accordingly. (Please email thecommons@ku.edu with this information.) Think of it as a less boisterous Idea Café with coffee.
